I don't know how it started but there's no stopping it now

This is the statement of inauguration of, this, a blog about wrapping presents.

A History
I don't know how it started. That pretty much sums it all up. At some point, several years ago, we in our family started wrapping presents very unconventionally. It came about by being unsatisfied with the ease with which my brothers and sister were reaching the material expressions of our birthday wishes, aka itunes gift cards, DVDs, books, etc. Thus materials such as duct tape and packing tape replaced conventional wrapping paper and scotch tape. But then, some how, it evolved, morphed, transformed into this quest for discovering never before used forms of wrapping presents. Shoes, marbles, barrels of monkeys, video cassetts, fabric, and other nontraditional coverings entered the gift wrapping scene. Now these nontraditional means have become a family tradition and there's no stopping it now.

The Rules
1) You have to use your hands to open the present.
2) That's it. That's the only rule.
